Habits to Prevent Cancer

Written by admin on June 10, 2008 – 1:55 pm

This will be a part of a series on good habits to prevent cancer. The following are things in my knowledge that our known to cause cancer. We all know about smoking, but what about the little everyday things that no one considers might be causing cancer?

1. Your underwire bra may cause cancer

Our body’s circulation is key to keeping the blood in our body clean. When the circulation is good, blood is fully oxygenated and able to help the lymphatic system to remove cancer cells, toxins and other unwanted materials in our tissue. When the hard wire digs into our very sensitive breast tissues, the blood is not circulating properly. Also many lymph nodes live in the armpit area. The pressure of the wire is stopping the lymph flow and fluid fills up causing pain, sensitivity, and even cysts. Eventually any free-radicals we are exposed to, are being trapped in our breasts because of the constant pressure of the wire which stops the lymphatic system from doing it’s job! In countries where woman don’t wear bras, almost no one has breast cancer.

What can you do about it?:

2. Throw away your microwave!

Microwaves alter the molecular structure of food! So what do you think it does to your cells?! It turns the food into a radiated piece of carcinogen. If you put a bagel in the microwave for 30 seconds and take it out it is soft and warm but if you leave it out for 30 minutes then drop it on the floor it will be as hard as a rock! This is proof it’s molecular structure has been altered. Furthermore, we’ve all probably heard warnings to move to a different room while the microwave is in use.

What can you do about it?:

  • Re-heat your leftovers on the stovetop and add a little water. It only takes 3-5 minutes and so what, you have a little pot or pan to wash? better than ingesting cancer!
  • Just throw away the microwave. It is far too tempting to heat up or cook your food in there!
  • If you can’t get rid of it, try using it just to heat up water. The molecular structure of water can’t be drastically altered if at all. If you absolutely have to use it, only re-heat food in glass pyrex containers despite how microwave safe the packaging claims to be.

There’s a great new documentary out that examines raw organic food as a cure for cancer. Click the link below to view the trailer on their website:

3. Plastic waterbottles

Just how long has that water bottle been sitting in the sun? When your plastic water bottle sits in the sun it is known that it releases the carcinogens in the plastic bottle into your water.

What can you do about it?:

  • Instead of buying bottled water, order a water delivery service which delivers 5 gallon water jugs and fill up a reusable water container such as Nalgene or better yet, those fancy swiss ones- SIGG (Swiss Engineered Water Bottles). They don’t have that mildew smell the Nalgene bottle develops and they come in over 144 trendy designs!

  • Better yet, since there is also controversy over how long the water delivery services leave their bottles in the sun, purchase a home water filtering system!

A study by Harvard researchers, published in the European Journal of Cancer in 1991, found bra-free women had a lower rate of breast cancer than women who wear bras. And a major study done by husband and wife medical anthropologists Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer, documented in their book, Dressed To Kill (Avery/Penguin Putnam, 1995; ISCD Press, 2005) shows a major link between bra wearing and breast cancer. Research to disprove this link has not been done, with the medical/cancer industry trying to ignore the bra issue. And many people comment on this issue without having read the original research, and call the link a myth and pseudoscience without having any scientific evidence to support their opposition to this vital information.

Carcinogens in microwaved food

In Dr. Lita Lee’s book, Health Effects of Microwave Radiation - Microwave Ovens, and in the March and September 1991 issues of Earthletter, she stated that every microwave oven leaks electro-magnetic radiation, harms food, and converts substances cooked in it to dangerous organ-toxic and carcinogenic products. Further research summarized in this article reveal that microwave ovens are far more harmful than previously imagined.

All of these everyday things we don’t even think about can cause cancer so getting into these habits can help prevent cancer! So reserve those underwire bras that are blocking up your lymph for special occasions, throw out your carcinogenic food causing microwave, and stop buying all those plastic bottles of water!

Very interesting post. No wonder why some country are more prone to cancer than other.

  2. Mindy Says:

I love the part about the bras! Im going shopping for some new ones tomorrow!!!Oh, and I just took mine off! Thanks!

  3. Mindy Says:

not sure I can do without my microwave just yet….how would you make popcorn!!

  4. admin Says:

@Mindy: well Mindy, I wouldn’t sweat it too much as long as you aren’t eating it everyday! Keep your microwave around for water and popcorn, but refrain from using if for anything else! When I eat something that is supposed to be bad for me I try to make sure I’m eating more things that are good to outweigh the bad! For example: blending out the anti-cancerous compounds out of your veggies with a VitaMixer more often than you are eating microwaved popcorn! :D

  5. Mike Reeves-McMillan Says:

Sorry, but the alarmism about microwaves is based on myth and pseudoscience. Here is an article which debunks the claims:

  6. admin Says:

@Mike: thanks for providing the other side of the story in a nicely laid out pdf with lots of info!

I still am not convinced that microwaves are safe however.

I’m certainly not convinced microwaves are ok from the vague statement by a man named Barry Swanson (Swanson is one of the biggest names in microwave dinners! I don’t know if he’s related but what a coincidence!?)

for those who want to read the statement, I’ve pasted it below:

“Without knowing more about how he conducted his study, what he measured, how he measured it, and what he found,it’s impossible to even begin to evaluate his findings,” says Barry
Swanson, a food scientist at Washington State University in Pullman.

and the article proudly states that the FDA has proved that microwaves and plastics are safe and that radiation stays contained unless there is a hole in the microwave, etc.

well, my feelings about the FDA are “can’t trust ‘em!”

for example: The FDA allows companies to label foods as 0 trans fat when in fact they aren’t! And they even admit they let companies lie!

    read about it here: http://www.ethicurean.com/2007/04/05/trans-fat-label/

so, I still stick to my belief that microwaves are harmful. I’d be interested to learn more!

Interesting post about plastic water bottles. I stopped by your site after you posted on my dietary supplement blog: http://jmorrow50.wordpress.com.

    Cheers,
